For this family cycling trip, we chose a center-based itinerary, where we stayed in the same hotel for 4 days. Each day we took a different route, giving us the chance to explore Chitenay and the surrounding area. As for the logistics, the fact that we didn't have to unpack and re-pack throughout the trip gave us greater peace of mind, and the opportunity to bond with our hosts!

Each day we took a different itinerary around Chitenay. Each route wasn't too long and gave us a chance to explore the area peacefully. On the first day we cycled to Cheverny, passing through vineyards and some picturesque villages and finishing with a visit to the Château de Cheverny and the magnificent Roseraie de Brigitte. On the second day, we visited one of the most majestic châteaux in the Loire Valley: the Château de Chambord and its estate. Then, the next day, we discovered the Château de Chaumont-sur-Loire and its magnificent gardens. Our children had a wonderful time, and I'd recommend these trips for families who want to combine tourism and discovery, while cycling in complete peace and quiet!

For 5 days, we had the opportunity to sample the specialities of the Loire Valley. I loved the different goat's cheeses and the children loved the tarte tatin... We also had the opportunity to taste the excellent local food and wines offered by the hotel restaurant. We had a wonderful time, and were delighted to discover these specialities in the warm atmosphere of the hotel garden.

I'd advise future travellers who want to save time to book the château pass on site or online! We also attended a knights' show with horses and raptors, which was magnificent for both children and adults.
