Environmental Policy of French Bike Tours

French Bike Tours has proudly become a Travelife Partner, marking a significant step forward in its commitment to responsible tourism.
This achievement reinforces the company’s dedication to reducing its environmental impact, promoting sustainable practices, and creating positive benefits for local communities. It sets a strong foundation for continuous improvement in sustainability across all aspects of its operations.

Travelife is a three-stage certification program for tour operators and travel agents:
(1) Travelife Engaged
(2) Travelife Partner and
(3) Travelife Certified.

We are now officially at stage 2 – Travelife Partner. We are working to move forward to stage 3 - Travelife Certified.

French Bike Tours sells holidays which are as environmentally friendly as possible.

Cycling does not harm the environment. Still, our business does include factors which can potentially harm nature and the environment. All French Bike Tours staff have been made aware of this, and a policy has been introduced to mitigate the negative effects of our business wherever possible.

• Waste separation for recycling already takes place in our office, but can always be improved upon.
• Cutting down on electricity by installing energy-saving light bulbs and improving insulation of the office building is completed.
• Limiting paper use. 
• Taking into account the environment when planning our tours, especially in the areas of transport, accommodation and activities en route.
• Adhering to the principles, resolutions and rules of conduct for sustainable tourism of the coordinating branch organisation.
• Providing our holiday makers with information and tips on how to help care for the environment while on tour.
• Communicating our commitment to caring for the environment to our clients, staff, suppliers and agents through the website, newsletter, route pack, and other channels.

It is in everyone’s best interest, not least our company’s, that it will still be possible to have beautiful and fascinating bike holidays in a clean natural environment in the future.
